1. Who created the web site
Hooda Match created game, Math Chimp was the website I found the game on.
2. Why was the gaming site created? Entertainment only or are there concepts taught also?
Site was created for teachers to help teach the common core state standards in math.
3. User Friendly Are they easy to navigate? Graphics engaging?
I thought the game was confusing and it was for a 1st grader. May take a while for the students to get a hang of it.
4. Fun Factor If the game is fun and engaging, students will be receptive to the concepts being taught, without being bored.
The game was a little difficult, which kept me engaged but left me frustrated.
5. Wisconsin, Common Core State Standards, and/or WMELS: Make a list of two or three standards the games meet. Choose two from your discipline and one outside your discipline. If you are Early Childhood and/or Elementary, list Language and Literacy and one other core content area.
Geometry- reason with shapes and their attributes
6. Ease in Finding an Educational Game Site: How difficult was each site to find?
It was fairly easy to find and navigate around the site to use the games.
7. Bilingual: Look to see if there is an ELL component to the games. How difficult is the
ELL component to find within the websites?
No
8. DI: Could this game be used to differentiate instruction?
Yes, you need to pass the levels and you can earn stars based on how accurate you got it. The students that understand the material can go farther in the game to challenge themselves more and try to get all 3 stars per level.
