"Internet communication may invovle email, social network sites, chat rooms, video conferencing, and shared workspaces: Students need to learn to communicate in all these different contexts." (pg. 13)
I feel this quote is so significant because I find myself juggling all of these different internet communication contexts. These multiple different communication contexts are becoming more of a demand in our technological advancing world. Students will need to learn these different types of communication to become more successful.
"The notion of 'just-in-time learning' is that whenever you need to learn something in order to accomplish a task, you can find out what you need to know." (pg. 14)
This quote is humorus to me because my family developed a saying on when we don't know an anwer to a question. We always say "google it." This is my family's way of "just-in-time learning".
"Technology enthusiast envision schools where students are working on realistic tasks and adults play a supportive role to guide them to new activities and help them when they encounter problems." (pg. 29)
This quote is a good example of guided discovery. This is a good teaching method and allows the student to use their own thinking to figure out a rule or solution with help if needed.
