"The seeds of a new education system can be seen in the explosive growth of home schooling, workplace learning, distance education, adult education, learning centers, educational television and videos, computer-based learning software, technical certifications, and Internet cafes." (pg. 66)
I completely agree with this statement. Everyday we are seeing more opportunities for education outside of a school or classroom. This gives us the control of what we learn, how we learn, and when we learn. That is why many people are looking into using technology for their education. It is much more convenient for their life style.
"However, the Internet is pushing new kinds of intereactive distance education at both the K-12 and collegiate level." (pg. 75)
Many teachers are using the advantages of technology to provide students with more 24/7 learning. This idea involves interactive distance education. I feel this will be interesting to watch progress over the years.
"With this perspective, games and gaming can be a source for inspiration in building more effective learning environments." (pg. 84)
Games and gaming is a great way for students to be more engaged in their learning. That is why many teachers find games that correlate to the lesson plan. The learning environment becomes more effective when the students are engaged in their learning.
